Volunteer and Join the Cast!

For 363 days of the year, Ross Street and Gaetz Avenue function as roadways for vehicle traffic and parking. For two days, the four blocks where they converge are home to Central Alberta’s largest accessible, affordable, all-ages festival celebrating arts and culture. Transforming that blank asphalt canvas into CentreFest would not be possible without the support of volunteers. We cannot thank our volunteers enough. Take a bow, we salute you.

Presenting CentreFest is a big job, we have a variety of needs, so it doesn't matter what skills you have - we have a place for you! One of the main volunteer needs at CentreFest is staffing the barricades (where the streets and alleys are closed to traffic) and environmental control. This can be a fundraising opportunity for your group. Please call 403-340-8696 for more information.

Why volunteer?

Did we mention the snazzy CentreFest T-shirt? That warm fuzzy feeling you get from knowing that you were part of something spectacular? Or the camaraderie enjoyed by that great crew you work with?

Join the cast as a festival volunteer.

We will be hosting a volunteer training session in the weeks leading up to CentreFest!  If you want to volunteer, please call Randy at 403-340-8696.

Environmental Team

CentreFest once again has a wonderful fundraising opportunity for a local organization to undertake. Each year, a local organization becomes the CentreFest Environmental Team, and helps maintain the cleanliness of the CentreFest site by helping festival volunteers keep waste collected and stored in designated areas, and by collecting recycling on site.

This is a big but not unmanageable job, that requires workers to be on site for the entire festival, a perfect job for energetic groups looking to make a difference in the community. The groups will receive an honorarium as well as get all bottles and cans to recycle
The first question most interested groups ask is "how many people do I need?". This question is difficult to answer, as it depends on how much your volunteers want to do. We do require that our Environmental Team keep a watchful eye on all garbage receptacles and recycling bins. A large part of the role of the environmental team would be to patrol these garbage cans so they can be removed when full. There are a number of peak times when food court areas are busier, and garbage can pile up very quickly.

In the past we have had different types of groups take this job, including sports teams, dance groups, and not for profit organizations. We will have a volunteer coordinator on site to help with any issues you have as well.

Interested organizations are asked to contact Randy at 403-340-8696, or by email at randy@centrefest.ca.
